Reading my monthly Marie Claire magazine, I got myself learning a little bit more about Christian Louboutin. Yep, the famous red sole shoe designer.
In the article, he compares his inspiration with voodoo. "Fashion isn't interesting when it comes from an uninspired place. It's like voodoo; we don't want things that are soaked in blood, sweat, and tears", says Louboutin. As many designers, he cannot allow himself to be tired or burned out. When the inspiration comes, he has to put it on paper and make it real.
Also, one of the most memorable things he said was all the love he has from his mother. She died in 1991, and he created his company short thereafter.
Moreover, what do you thing is the first thing Louboutin looks on a women? If you said shoes, you are wrong. Unexpectedly, when he sees someone, he first look at her face, then clothes, then after he checks her completely out, he sees her shoes, which often surprises him. Who could imagine that!!!
Also, many women ask themselves: why are high heels so sexy? Louboutin believed that "one moves more slowly in heels. Walking fast is neither sexy nor engaging. Out you are walking in heels, you've got time. It is much more attractive". - a tip for me to learn, since I'm an insanely fast walker, therefore, probably not sexy, based on his words LOL.
All in all, his enthusiasm and dedication can definitely be seen in all the pieces of art he creates.
